Disneyland’s New Star Wars Popcorn Buckets Probably Smell Great on the Inside, Actually

Spread the love

Here’s a look at the Star Wars goods coming to the Disneyland Resort for “Season of the Force,” the theme park’s annual Star Wars celebration. The ridiculous Jawa sipper is so silly we absolutely need it and then there’s a Tauntaun popcorn bucket, which is just unhinged. Yes, a Tauntaun bucket—it’s unclear how much you’ll actually be able to fit inside, but we’re guessing a Han Solo action figure could perhaps share space with your snacks.

It’s just great to see creatures being the inspiration for this year’s seasonal product and they’re both instant buys. Or at least they would be if it wasn’t so hard to actually get your hands on them; you can expect to be elbowing past re-sellers to acquire them on their drop days, which begin after the seasonal event kicks off March 28.

The Tauntaun popcorn bucket will be released April 8 at beverage carts inside Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge as well as Kat Saka’s Kettle with popped grains or Galma Garlic Puffs (for that more movie-accurate guts smell on the inside). It will also be available at Tomorrowland’s Galactic Grill with a side of fries.

The Jawa sipper will be released May 4 at Galactic Grill, the Disneyland Hotel’s the Coffee House (across from Trader Sam’s and the pool), and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel’s Great Hall Cart in the lobby and poolside at the GCH Craftsman Grill.

That’s not all! Oga’s Cantina will get a new tiki-style mug with a Mythosaur carving onto the bone of the finest libation container fit for a bounty hunter. The new drink that will be served with it is the Ne’tra gal Ale, White Wampa Ale with apple cider and cherry purée, starting March 28.

Other releases include the awesome Coaxium sipper (talk about a deep cut) at Galaxy’s Edge: Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo and Ronto Roasters, which comes with any fountain beverage of your choice in a super rad container.

And there’s a new Death Star popcorn bucket to boot; it will be a looming presence inside Disneyland at Galaxy’s Edge Kat Saka’s Kettle and beverage carts with popped grains and Galma Garlic puffs, and Tomorrowland’s Galactic Grill with fries. At Disney’s Grand Californian Great Hall Cart, you can get the Death Star with a side of Space Rock Cookies. I might trek there for the cookie option, for the sole purpose of being able to quote “Come to the dark side, we have cookies.”

And in the realm of more beverage fun, there will be two prequel series tumblers released at both the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Grand Californian, as well as in park at Disneyland’s Galactic Grill. Tomorrowland’s Galactic Grill will also be getting lightsaber-inspired slush drinks: the Darth Vader Lightsaber Swizzle Stick served with a Coca-Cola slushy, and the Skywalker Lightsaber Swizzle Stick served with a Blue Raspberry slushy. And yes, the sabers in the drinks light up.

Star Wars: Season of the Force begins March 28 at the Disneyland resort and will run until May 11, before the theme park celebrates its 70th anniversary kick-off later that month.
